June Business Casual Mixer

FEATURED NON-PROFIT

UNITED BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY

We are proud to feature the United Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County (UBGC) at our June Business Casual Mixer. UBGC is a non-profit youth development agency serving children ages 5-18 years old at 9 locations across Santa Barbara County. Their mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens and they place an emphasis on BGCA’s Formula for Impact making sure their programs help youth achieve three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles. In 2001, UBGC consolidated as one organization serving communities in Carpinteria, Westside Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Lompoc; and manages Camp Whittier, a 55-acre residential camp, in the Santa Ynez mountains near Lake Cachuma.

The upcoming BGCA Rally 4 Kids fundraiser, scheduled for July 14th, provides more than 3,100 youth with a safe and thriving environment for them to learn and grow. When schools are out for the day, the Boys & Girls Clubs are open to all members providing educational, artistic and recreational programs. This event brings experienced and novice rally drivers to compete through a series of challenges across SB County for a chance to be the Rally 4 Kids “Roads Scholar”.

WHAT WE DO

WHAT TO EXPECT

Philanthropy

Featured Non-Profits

The Santa Barbara Young Professionals promote local civic and charitable groups and programs that provide valuable services in our community. We do this by partnering with charities in our community and providing a forum at our events for these charities to promote their causes and activities. Our members are encouraged to get involved with these organizations, whether it be giving of their time or resources for support.

Each month, SBYPC features a different civic organization by allowing them to address the crowd at our Monthly Business Casual Mixers. These organizations are then eligible to become Non Profit of the Year and the benefactor of our fundraising efforts over the course of the year. For nearly two decades, the Santa Barbara Young Professionals Club has gifted between $1,000 – $7,500 each year to organizations in need.

FEATURED NON-PROFITS

We choose a local non-profit or charity organization to feature and highlight at each Monthly Business Casual Mixer. This partnership gives the non-profit the opportunity to highlight their cause, and also introduces our SBYPC Members to local organizations they can get involved with.

SB HEART WALK

Each year, the SBYPC Board of Directors sponsors a team to support the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association Santa Barbara Heart & Stroke Walk. In 2017, the SBYPC Team was the #1 fundraising team for the Heart Walk.

NON-PROFIT OF THE YEAR

The non-profit organizations featured at our events throughout the year are then eligible for the Non-Profit of the Year Award. We present this award and donation check at our annual Holiday Gala Benefit held each December. The Non-Profit of the Year is also the benefactor of our fundraising efforts over the course of the year.
